About Our Curriculum

King of Peace Episcopal Day School will do much more than mind your children. We are creating a safe, happy environment in which children can grow to their full potential in the preschool years. To assist us in this, we will use the Links to Literacy curriculum.

Links to Literacy addresses all areas of development, or domains, for preschool children:

  • Language development
  • Literacy
  • Cognitive development (math, science, creative arts)
  • Social and emotional development
  • Approaches to learning

Reading in the Turtles ClassWe have also adapted the curriculum so that Christian education is an integral part of the learning experience. Your child will come to learn about God’s love in a loving environment.

Links to Literacy offers multiple learning experiences through both fiction and non-fiction books including: favorite old stories and brand new books, poetry, nursery rhymes, and songs. Hands-on, theme-related centers help children to learn independently with their entire beings. We offer positive reinforcement of learning ... and celebrations of your child’s success! The Preschool is using the Links to Literacy curriculum to nurture the essential elements of lifelong learning: curiosity, initiative, persistence, reasoning, and problem solving.
